Pastel op velour

Winds' gentle touch

Nog nooit ging een portret zo lekker snel. Gisteren begonnen en vandaag af! En dat terwijl ik tussendoor ook regelmatig even wat anders ben gaan doen (ik zit nog steeds met mijn rug). Het is een portret van het Andalusische paard Fernando, dat ik vorig jaar heb gefotografeerd.
Ik heb nog geen titel, dus mocht je een idee hebben dan roep maar!

This is the first time I've finished a portrait this fast. I've started yesterday! And I did walked away from it several times (my back is still hurting). It's a portrait of the Andalusion horse Fernando, who I've photographed last year.
I haven't got a title yet, so suggestions are more than welcome.

Unfortunatly I didn't get to do the dogportraits. But I did sold enough other art to compete in the professional division.

Little Ballerina

Met dit schilderij ben ik al zeker een maand af en aan mee bezig. Tussendoor wel netjes de opdrachten gedaan en af en toe een ander olieverfje, maar als dat moest drogen toch hier maar mee verder.
Het is pastel op velour 50x70 cm (een heel vel!). Wat een verschil met dieren! Doe mij maar een vachtje ipv huid, maar goed de afwisseling is ook heel erg leuk.

I'm workin off and on this painting for at least a month now. In the mean while I did do all of my commissions and an ocasionnal oil, but I kept goming back to this painting in the time the oils needed to dry.
It's pastel on velour 50x70 cm (a full sheet!). What a difference with painting animals! I do prefer furr over skin, but than again I do like the variation (a lot).

Vandaag ben ik begonnen aan een nieuw, klein olieverf schilderijtje. Het doekje is 18x24 cm, met hierop een fries paard dat ik de afgelopen zomer in Drogeham (FR) heb gefotografeerd. Ook heb ik nog wat veranderd aan het schilderij van Charlie zodat deze nu wat meer "spreekt".

Today I've started with a new, little oilpainting. This canvas is 18x24 cm with on this a Frisian horse I've photographed last Summer in Drogeham (FR, Netherlands). I've also added a few touches to Charlie to give him a bit more body and look.

Charlie

Het portret van King Charles Cavalier Charlie is af. Na flink wat geklieder met een aantal lagen olieverf, snap ik eindelijk hoe ik met olieverf moet schilderen. De laatste lagen zijn voornamelijk nat in nat.

The oilportrait of the King Charles Cavelier, Charlie is finished. It took me a while to understand how to paint with oil and after a few layers and a dozen mistakes I finally got it. The last layers are painted mainly wet in wet.
