De rode kat (ik dacht een Noorse boskat). Ik had deze foto genomen op de kattenshow in Groningen afgelopen zaterdag. Dit luchtte zo op dat ik vandaag ook nog even mijn penselen gepakt heb en de Siamees heb gemaakt. Je kunt wel zien dat mijn gevoelens toen wat kalmer waren.
Sometimes you have one of those days, nothing works. well mine was yesterday. After working on the waterdogs in pastels, I just lost it. The brown dog is as good as finished so I moved on to the black dog, but for some reason it didn't worked out the way I wanted. So I jumped up and down with frustration, started yelling and just wanted to bin the whole painting. I finally put the painting away and took out my brushes and acrylics. A loose work, just go ahead with it. Well this red cat came out ( I think it's a Norwegian). I took the referencephoto at the catshow in Groningen last Saturday. Working on this painting was so relaxing I made another one today, the siamese. As you can see I felt a lot calmer making that painting.

Yes, when that happens its always best to take a break from the picture and come back to it with fresh eyes isn't it. I'm sure next time you work on it the black dog will work perfectly :o)

I love the red cat, got a great expression. The loose wild strokes catch the coat to a 't'. Bravo on venting yer frustrations so constructively...
