Vriendjes en een nieuwe uitdaging

Ik ben weer een klein stapje verder met het portret van de twee dames. Dit keer heb ik de basislaag van het paardehoofd wat verder uitgewerkt.
Ook heb ik mezelf voor een uitdaging gezet, nu proberen deze vol te houden. Iedere dag een schets. Onderwerp maakt niet uit, als ik maar iedere dag 1 schets maak en dan een jaar lang. Dus tja das best een uitdaging.
De schets van gisteren is het kerkuiltje.

I've worked on portrait of the two ladies a little more. I now worked out de baselayer of the horsehead.
I also gave myself a new challenge, now let's try to hold on. A sketch a day. A little sketsch every day for a year. Yes I told you, a real challenge.
Yesterdays sketch is the little barnowl.

Sorry and some new work!

First of all sorry I didn't wrote a blog in some while. I've been busy with a lot.
I'm now working on several oil paintings so I just post them all to make up for the long time no blog. And I'll try to post more often.


Allereerst sorry voor de lange stilte. Ik heb het de afgelopen tijd druk gehad. Ik ben nu bezig met verschillende olieverf schilderijen, om het goed te maken post ik ze gewoon allemaal en zal ik mijn best doen het nu beter bij te houden.

Nieuwe vogels

Komend weekend sta ik op de Art Event en speciaal daarvoor ben ik wat nieuwe werkjes aan het maken.
Het bosuiltje is gedaan in aquarel met inkt en meet 6x8 cm.
De papegaaien zijn gedaan in acryl en meten 9x15 cm.

This weekend I will be attending the Art Event in Assen. And to show you all some new work I've been busy.
The tawny owl is done with watercolor and ink and measures 6x8 cm
The two little parrots/parakeets are done in acrylics and measure 9x15 cm.

National Exhibition of Wildlife Art

Voor het eerst is mijn werk dit jaar te zien in Gordale (GB), waar 1 van Engelands grootste wildlife exposities te bewonderen is. Diverse kunstenaars uit allerlei landen exposeren hier hun werk en dit jaar ik dus ook! Al het werk is te koop en mocht je niet in de gelegenheid zijn om langs te gaan, dan kun je vanaf de opening van de expositie het werk ook online kopen. Kijk voor meer info op www.newa-uk.com

Komondors in pastel WIP

Een pastel op velour (30x60 cm) van 3 Hongaarse Herders (Komondors). De achtergrond is ook geïnspireerd door Hongarije.

Zwanenjong / Cygnet

Een miniatuur schilderijtje gedaan met acryl op een mini canvas doekje. (5x7 cm). Echt superleuk om te doen en ook een hele uitdaging om het zo realistisch mogelijk te houden.

It was very fun to do such a small painting and a challenge to keep as realistic as possible.

Fotowedstrijd!

Irving Art Association/Wildlife Show

Mijn werk is geselecteerd voor de Wildlife show van de IAA in Irving, Texas, USA. Van de drie die ik heb ingestuurd zijn er 2 door, namelijk Chimp en Nightview. De show opent zaterdag 26 sept. 09. Dus ik hoop dat de werken er op tijd zijn...


My work is been selected to enter the Wildlife show of the IAA in Irving, TX, USA. I'd entered three artworks and two got selected, Chimp and Nightview. The show opens saterday 26th September so let's hope they'll get there in time...

Een kras uiltje

Deze foto vond ik ergens op het internet en staat ondertussen al zeker twee jaar op mijn to-do lijstje. De foto sprak mij heel erg aan omdat de uil gedeeltelijk weg valt in de schaduw van de boom. Alhoewel hij nu misschien half af lijkt is hij dat niet.

I found the reference photo for this piece a few years ago on the internet. In the mean while it stayed on my to-do list. Finally I found the medium and the time to do this photo. I felt for the picture bacause the owl is fading back in the shades of the tree. So yes this is the finished piece.

Little angry owl

Een heel boos uiltje

Afgelopen zomer ben ik mijn ouders naar een uilenopvang en mini-zoo in Ter Apel geweest. Er was een uiltje die zich verschrikkelijk aan het opwinden was elke keer als mijn vader langs liep. Ik heb verschillende foto's en schetsen gemaakt, maar vandaag ben ik dan eindelijk aan één begonnen. Hij was hier echt op zijn ergst. Verschrikkelijk boos, maar zo grappig.

Ook heb ik nog een aantal ACEO's kunnen doen. Gelukkig gaat hier maar max. een uurtje per kaartje inzitten. Al met al houd het in dat ik de hele dag achter mijn ezel heb gezeten en nu een driedelige rug heb. Dus op naar de warme douche!

Verscholen in het riet

Met dit schilderij ben ik al een poosje bezig. Het is acrylverf op papier, 12x27 cm. Ik ben van plan hem in te sturen voor een wedstrijd. Nu hopen dat ze hem goed genoeg vinden in de voorrondes.
