Oil on streched linen
Well it isn't going any better with my back, so I'm looking at my options right now. Pastels, charcoal and graphite work aren't any problem, acrylis on the other hand is. I can't sit long at one time (max. 30 minutes), for drawings this isn't a problem, I can start wherever I left. With acrylic I can't. This paint dries very quickly, normally I like this, but now the paintlayers are dry before I can work with them. Unfortunatly all the commissions waiting are acrylics. That's why I've started with oils again, and therefor this little test. A petportrait in oils. Oilpaint is a slow dryer, so I can leave the painting and pick up where I left hours later. Now let's hope that the clients won't bother getting an oilpainting instead of an acrylic. They have a quicker result (instead of waiting for backproblems to go) but the painting needs more time to dry.
